Spring 2023 Season

Happy New Year to everyone. Registration for the Spring Season is still open. It will remain open until midnight, Thursday, January 19. If you have not signed up yet, please do so ASAP. We may have to start wait-listing certain age groups based on avasilable coaches and field space. Registration is available at parklandsoftball.org.

Coaches: If you are able to help coach, please sign-up to do so. We will need Head Coaches! If you sign-up to Head Coach and we have enough we can move you down to Assistant. We will be holding a COACHES CLINIC on Friday, January 13 @ 6 PM on Terramar Field 3. We will have experienced coaches reviewing diffferent drills and practice planning as well as a board member to go over the rules for each division. Any coach who is able to assist with the Free Clinics (see below) is encouraged to come out and help.

Free Open Clinic: We will be having a free open clinic with the Lady Eagles softball team from Stoneman Douglas for all new and returning players to attend if they wish on Wednesday, January 18 @ 6 PM. The 6U, 8U and 10U players will be on Terramar Park field 3. The 12U and 16U players will be on Terramar field 4.

Player Evaluations & Uniform fitting: As part of PYSA's effort to have a fun and competitive season for all teams involved, we will be conducting our player evaluations on Saturday, January 21 beginning at 9 AM. There will be an email sent out on Friday, January 20 with times and locations for each age group and last name. ALL PLAYERS will be placed on a team no matter what. This is not a tryout. However, in order to evenly place talent on the teams, we request everyone come out. Your individual evaluation should not take longer than 30 minutes total. We will also have sample uniforms available that morning for fittings. Even if you do not have an eval scheduled, we highly encourage you to come get a uniform fitting so that we order the correct size for your player. 6U WILL NOT HAVE PLAYER EVALS, BUT PLEASE COME TRY ON A UNIFORM ANYTIME THAT MORNING.

Teams and First Practices: Teams will be made by the Board of Directors and Coaches over the couple of days following the evals. Players should be informed of their teams on Monday or Tuesday following evals. The 1st practice for all teams will be held on Saturday, January 28. You will receive a welcome email from your coach and the league with a copy of your team roster and practice schedule through opening day, Sunday, February 26.
